The Anatomy of a Successful Award Winning Out-of-Court Restructuring
We are pleased to share an invitation from the HBS Association of Orange County for the May Harvard Leadership Series (HLS) featuring Richard H. Golubow, founder and managing partner of Winthrop Couchot Golubow Hollander, LLP, and Kenneth S. August, founder and President of August Law Group.
We all know deals are tough. Pulling together the right deal team is critical and further, your legal advisors are a core element of your team – often making the difference between success and failure! The Harvard Leadership Series is proud to have two award winning legal minds**, Richard Golubow and Ken August, share their insights and walk you through a case based on their creative approach to implementing an out-of-court financial restructuring. In just over a few months, and with minimal disruption to the daily operations of the Company’s business, they negotiated a win/win for all parties while incurring professional fees far less than projected had the company sought relief under chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code.
It was a remarkable outcome - the team preserved the Company’s collateral base, reduced debt by 75% (approximately $16 million) and cut overhead costs by nearly 50%. This saved the jobs of approximately 200 employees, and preserved an iconic corporation that had, through its inception, generated contracts valued in excess of $340 billion, many of which involved defense and aerospace matters of critical national importance and safety.
Please join us…..this is the stuff scripts are made of and will be a captivating presentation!
