...it's time for a bigger event!

Planning the event
1.  Select a topic that is relevant in the current business environment and to your region
2.  Choose 3-4 of the highest level panelists.  Shoot for the stars as this will draw a large crowd.
3.  Find a sponsor who wants to meet the panelists and who could provide a high level moderator.
4.  Choose a 4-5 star hotel location.  Remember that Wharton is a top brand, and we should be hosting at top rate locations.  Explain to the hotel what Wharton is....our Alumni and our guests are these hotels' clientele!
5.  Choose 3 hot appetizers, 3 cold, and plan for a cash bar to begin the event.  This allows for networking.
6.  Hold a conference call with speakers a week prior.  Make intros, review questions, address concerns.
7.  Sell tickets using Alumni Magnet!

Day of event:
1.  Download, sort and print RSVP list
2.  Bring nametags
3.  Bring pens
4.  Bring manilla envelope to carry money/checks collected
5.  Bring flyers listing your future events (always market!)
6.  Take pictures
7.  Introduce speakers, moderator, welcome guests
8.  Wrap up event with thank you's and upcoming event announcements.  Be sure to thank your planning team!  This is KEY!

Post event
1.  Send thank you notes and gifts to speakers and sponsors.
2.  Send note to entire officer team with update on event.  This inspires people who didn't attend to participate next time and get more involved.
3.  Upload pix to website and send link to all attendees.  This helps them remember the event, people they met, and gives them a warm fuzzy feeling.
