Martin Muoto is the CEO and Managing Partner of the SoLa Impact funds. SoLa Impact’s Opportunity Zone Fund was selected as the leading Urban OZ Fund by Forbes/Sorenson Impact and has been able to achieve market-rate returns while delivering on its mission of “Doing Well by Doing Good.” SoLa’s double bottom line funds focus on improving the lives of residents in LA’s black and brown neighborhoods through affordable housing, economic development, access to education and data-driven social impact programs. In 2020, SoLa Impact was recognized by Inc5000 as the #7 fastest growing minority-led company in the US.
Martin began personally investing in real estate in South Los Angeles, Compton, Watts and other neglected communities a decade before these areas became designated Opportunity Zones. Along with Gray Lusk, Martin launched SoLa Impact’s first fund in 2014. His early vision – and his leadership among Opportunity Zone funds delivering true social impact – has led to Martin being featured in Forbes, Black Enterprise, the WSJ, the NYTimes, and other leading publications.
Martin was previously an operating executive at several technology companies and a venture capital partner at Accretive Partners and General Atlantic Partners in New York. He graduated with Honors from the Wharton School of Business W’93 and the University of Pennsylvania C’93.
