Dave Bartlett
Vice President, Land Entitlement and Land & Housing Development

David (Dave) Bartlett is the Vice-President of Land Entitlement for Brookfield Properties – Development of Southern California. Over the past 35 years, he has guided the successful entitlements of many residential, mixed use and commercial projects throughout southern California. He joined the Brookfield executive team in 2004 and is currently responsible for land use entitlements and pre-development for land and housing operations in southern California.
Mr. Bartlett currently serves as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Orange County Business Council, is the current chair of the Building Industry Association (BIA) of Southern California and is past President of the Orange County BIA. He is also the former Chair of the Orange County Planning Commission and currently serves on the Commission representing the Fifth District.
Dave attended the University of Arizona where he studied Geography, Regional Development and Urban Planning.
A native of Nebraska, Dave and his wife Anne Marie have three daughters and have lived and enjoyed life in southern California for over 30 years.
Joe Vinatieri

In 2016, Joe was elected as Mayor in the first municipal election that allowed voters citywide to directly elect the Mayor and was re-elected as Mayor in 2018, 2020 and again in 2022, receiving 81.1% of the vote. Joe was born and raised in Whittier, attended Whittier schools and is a Partner at Bewley, Lassleben and Miller.
As a Partner at Bewley, Lassleben & Miller, LLP, Joe is an expert in California state finance and taxation, including the areas of sales and use tax, franchise/income tax and property tax. Mr. Vinatieri is admitted to practice law in the State of California as well as in the Central District and Southern District of California, the District of Arizona and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Vinatieri is former Chief Deputy to Honorable Ernest J. Dronenburg, Jr., retired Member of the California State Board of Equalization where he was responsible for preparation and administration of franchise/income tax, property tax and sales and use tax cases to be heard by Board Member Dronenburg.
Mr. Vinatieri is a past chairman of the State and Local Subcommittee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association Tax Section and the Sales and Use Tax Subcommittee of the State and Local Committee of the California Bar Tax Section. He is a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation where he has spoken locally and nationally. Mr. Vinatieri has also been a regular speaker for the California Certified Public Accountant Foundation, the Tax Executives Institute, the National Business Institute, Lorman Business Seminars, The State Bar Tax Section and the Los Angeles County Chapter of the International Association of Assessing Officers.

Jeannie Vu is Vice President, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion and Real Estate lead for Wharton So Cal. Jeannie was most recently the Chief Financial Officer of JRK Property Holdings, a $7 billion AUM vertically integrated operator of multifamily and hospitality assets. As CFO, Jeannie oversaw accounting, finance, business intelligence, purchasing, and asset management. Prior to JRK, Jeannie was most recently a Senior Vice President at Colony Capital, which was a $60 billion AUM real estate private equity firm at its peak. She held various roles in acquisitions, originations, and corporate finance and has acquired over $1 billion of assets spanning the capital stack and across all asset types. Prior to Colony Capital, Jeannie was an investment banker at FBR Capital Markets and auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Jeannie received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California and a Masters of Business Administration in Entrepreneurship from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Jeannie is a certified public accountant (inactive).
Eric Frankel W'04, Managing Director of Validus Capital
Eric Frankel serves as a Managing Director at Validus Capital with the focus of helping clients craft investment strategies and identify investment opportunities in both the public and private markets.
Prior to joining Validus, Mr. Frankel served as a Director at Camden Capital, a wealth management firm serving individuals and families. Prior to Camden, Mr. Frankel was a senior analyst at Green Street, a leading real estate research and analytics firm. Throughout his tenure at Green Street, he led coverage of the industrial property sector. He also managed coverage of other property sectors including cold storage, self-storage, and cell towers. He has also been extensively quoted for his expertise in real estate and REIT valuation in news publications such as the Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Bloomberg, and other leading real estate news publications. Prior to Green Street, Mr. Frankel was a member of the investment team at KTR Capital Partners, a real estate private equity firm that was sold to Prologis for $5.6 billion.
Mr. Frankel graduated with a Bachelors of Economics degree Magna Cum Laude from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in real estate and finance. He serves as an active member of the CFA Society of Orange County and the Wharton Club of Southern California.
