Join members of The Wharton Club of Southern California and prospective members of the new WhartonSoCal Investment Management affinity group for their inaugural event! This is a brand new affinity group launching in February, 2022! The focus of this group will initially be on topics of interest to investors related to investing and investment management. Daniel Yearwood will lead this new effort.
First Meeting Topic: With the spread of DeFi and stablecoins, some digital asset platforms offer savings rates as high as 19.5% in stark contrast to the low nominal savings rates offered by traditional banks today and the generally return free risk offered by fixed income, both of which are negative in inflation adjusted terms. As the total value locked in on the DeFi universe grows, are the opportunities in traditional fixed income and credit markets still worth pursuing? (Assuming, of course, that you're not running a several billion dollar plus pension fund)

Daniel Yearwood WG14 is an investment professional and founder with over ten years of experience across alternatives, banking, infrastructure and advisory. He is a dual Wharton MBA / Harvard MPA graduate with a BSc in Computer Science from Morgan State University. He was born and raised in Trinidad & Tobago.
