Please join Alissa for her next in-person seminar. This will be an inspiring, interactive and engaging half-day event.

How many times have you had an interaction with someone who is really smart (in terms of IQ) but has no clue as to how you are feeling, what you are thinking or how to handle the situation? The person may have gone to all the best schools and even have a fancy degree and title but they lack emotional intelligence. When this happens in the workplace it’s really frustrating and causes many people to want to quit their jobs. When it happens at home relationships become strained and can fall apart.

DESCRIPTION
You can be a leader whether or not you run a business or team. This seminar helps you step into your next level of leadership by developing a can-do mindset, leveraging your strengths and building emotional intelligence. Companies are beginning to understand that talent and skills are important but they only take you so far unless you can develop your emotional intelligence. People with higher levels of emotional intelligence and self-awareness are better able to manage and interact with all types of people. In order to be successful in our life and career we need to build relationships, share our ideas convincingly and implement them, just having an idea and being smart is not enough if no one wants to work with you.

We need to get along with all different types of people to be successful. There are 4 components to emotional intelligence which include: self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management. Emotional intelligence is an essential component of leadership as you move forward in your career. And, it’s important to understand that building our emotional intelligence is a process like anything else we do. We will be using the DISC Behavioral Framework (D = Dominant, I= Influencer, S= Steady, C = Conscientious) to explore some of these areas.

The seminar will help you:
* Shift your perspective and understand different views
* Realize that the mindset you create is a choice
* Identify behavior patterns and why they matter (we will work with the DISC framework to discuss behavior patterns)
* Understand and inspire all different types of people and communicate more effectively
* Increase self-awareness
* Unlock challenges and build more effective relationships
* Manage conflict more strategically
* Recognize blind spots
* Leverage strengths and use them more powerfully
* Gain focus for 2015
