Event Overview

The Wharton SoCal Women's Network is excited to host a panel discussion focused on Women’s Longevity and Healthy Aging. Panelists include Carol Bender, Nurse Practitioner, Founder and CEO of Joy Wellness Partners, Dr. Katy Setoodeh, Rheumatologist and Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner, and Dr. Ildiko Csiki, an Oncologist, Physician-Scientist and Biotechnology Executive. Join us for a discussion on this hot topic as we engage with experts and learn how we can navigate the fast-growing Longevity space as we prepare to age with optimal health.

This event will be for women only.

Event flow:

6:30 - 7 pm: Welcome, enjoy snacks and networking

7 - 8 pm: Panel discussion

8 - 8:30 pm: Networking

When: Thursday, April 3rd, 6:30-8:30pm

Where: Preccelerator, 1316 3rd Street Promenade, Suite 107. Santa Monica, CA 90401 (Please register online. There are no walk-ins for this event).

Parking: There are several parking lots near the promenade. There is also metered street parking.

Food: Light refreshments will be served.

Cost: Ticket price is $10 for members or $25 for non-members. Members may bring 1 guest at member price.

About the Hosts:

Sarah Chandler WG10

Sarah is the founder and principal consultant of Purposeful Impact, a consulting organization supporting leaders to increase equity in education through strategic planning and implementation, talent management, and leadership development. She has served as a strategic advisor, consultant, board member, and executive team member with mission-driven organizations across public and private sectors over the past two decades. Sarah has an MBA from The Wharton School, and is an Aspen-Pahara Fellow and Coro Women in Leadership Fellow.

Alissa Finerman WG98

Alissa Finerman is an Executive Coach and Gallup Certified Strengths Coach. She is a Facilitator/Guide for Chief, a private women’s network, and coaches teams, executives, managers and entrepreneurs. She is on the Executive Coaching team for the Wharton Executive MBA program and has guest lectured for several universities. Alissa was a VP on the Corporate Bond Sales Desk at Credit Suisse (now UBS) before she founded her Leadership Consulting & Coaching company. She is an angel investor (focused on impact and supporting women founders), advisor and author of the book, Living in YOUR Top 1%. She holds an MBA from The Wharton School and is a Board member for The Wharton Club of Southern California.

Monisha Toteja G’09 WG09

Monisha Toteja is the CEO of Dynamic Speaking, where she advises, coaches, and speaks about communication challenges at work. She has over 20 years of professional experience, and focuses on empowering executives and rising stars to communicate effectively. She works across industries to assist leaders in improving their executive presence, confidence, and strategic communication, including navigating difficult situations, engaging key stakeholders, and creating a pitch for investors or clients. Monisha taught communication at The Wharton School for eight years and is a member of the Forbes Coaches Council. She holds an MBA in Management from The Wharton School, an MA in International Studies from The Joseph H. Lauder Institute of Management and International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in German Studies from Duke University. Monisha speaks German fluently, Hindi conversationally, and has a basic knowledge of Spanish.

About the Panelists

Carol Bender

 

Carol Joy Bender, NP, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner and CEO of Joy Wellness Partners, a comprehensive health center specializing in regenerative treatments, longevity, and patient wellness. She earned three degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, including a BSN and MSN from the School of Nursing and a BSE from the Wharton School of Business. After working as an ER nurse and later as an ER Nurse Practitioner, she founded Joy Wellness Partners in 2016 to create a more effective, integrative approach to health and healing.



Dr. Katy Setoodeh

 

Dr. Katy Setoodeh specializes in longevity, prevention, hormonal balance and wellbeing. She completed her medical training in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology, and is a Menopause Society Certified Menopause Practitioner. She previously was involved in teaching residents and fellows at Cedars Sinai and was a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. She has lectured extensively to both doctors and patient groups and has been involved in numerous clinical trials and has authored papers and book chapters. She has appeared on the Doctor’s show and is featured in the book, The Patient’s Playbook, which discusses solutions to the challenges patients face in navigating the healthcare system and the importance of a patient focused approach.


Dr. Ildiko Csiki

 

Dr. Ildiko Csiki is a physician-scientist and biotechnology executive focused on oncology and proactive health optimization who works closely with various for-profit and not-for profit companies as well as academic institutions to advance healthcare innovation for cancer and longevity including patient equity, pricing and access to life-saving therapies.

 

Dr Csiki is an oncologist with over 20 years’ experience in patient care and cancer research. She currently serves as the founder and chief advisor to Next level Oncology, a concierge proactive health and cancer management practice. Previously, she spent 3 years at City of Hope as the Chief Commercial R&D Officer partnering with City of Hope’s approximately 1000 investigators to accelerate drug discovery, development, and commercialization. Prior to that she served as the Chief Medical Officer at Sensei Bio, a clinical state biopharmaceutical company developing novel immunotherapies and completed an executive management program at the Wharton Business School focused on healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship. Dr. Csiki graduated magna cum laude from the University of Arkansas with degrees in Biology, Psychology and Chemistry and then received her M.D. in Medicine and Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from Vanderbilt University followed by an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Radiation Oncology also at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. After a subsequent Holman Pathway Research Fellowship, she began her academic faculty career at the University of Pennsylvania as an Assistant Professor in the Perelman Cancer Center where she had an active clinical practice and a translational science laboratory focused on thoracic malignancies.
