Wharton SoCal Wellness Event- Improve Your Sleep, March 12 @6:30pm in Santa Monica
Join the Wharton SoCal alumni club for our continuing wellness series with a conversation on sleep with Sagar Chopra, Co-Founder and CEO of Empower Sleep and Wharton alum.
We all know it’s important to get good quality sleep but it can be a struggle with our busy lives. Sleep is essential for mental and physical health and to allow the body to repair, restore and rejuvenate.
Approximately one-third of U.S. adults (over 84 million people) do not get enough consistent, quality sleep. Roughly 50 to 70 million Americans suffer from chronic sleep disorders like insomnia or sleep apnea. Additionally, about 14.5% of adults have trouble falling asleep, while 17.8% struggle to stay asleep.
In our discussion, Sagar will share how Empower Sleep is tackling these issues and providing continuous data to improve sleep. Empower Sleep’s mission is to extend human healthspan for millions of people through better sleep. Their goal is to deliver more personalized care so everyone can benefit from the effects of better sleep.

About the speaker
Sagar Chopra is Co-Founder and CEO of Empower Sleep, a sleep intelligence company helping
people sleep better using continuous data, personalized insights, and physician-led care. He previously worked at Uber, where he helped launch markets and products across the U.S., Latin America, Europe, and Asia, learning about systems, product, and scaling (...and what happens when people don’t get enough sleep).
Sagar is obsessed (in a healthy way) with healthcare and longevity, especially where data, personalization, and real outcomes intersect to deliver N-of-1 care at scale. He’s now building the infrastructure layer for sleep, human performance, and long-term health.
He holds an MBA from Wharton, an MA from Lauder (SAMENA ’22), and an undergraduate degree from UCLA.
