Get board ready with us on September 20th!  Join us for an informative two-hour workshop from the woman that literally wrote the book on getting on boards and advocated for laws on corporate board representation.

  • How can you best position yourself, especially now, for board opportunities?

Light refreshments will include a chocolate tasting and a dessert bar at this event held at women-owed business, ChocoVivo in Culver City. 

Betsy is the CEO of Berkhemer Clayton, Inc., a retained executive search firm based in Los Angeles, specializing in senior-level and board searches for corporations, universities and nonprofit organizations.   She is also the author of two books, The Board Game:  How Smart Women Become Corporate Directors and Winning the Board Game: How Women Directors Make the Difference.

As volunteer, she serves on California Statewide board of National Assn of Women Business Owners-California (NAWBO-CA) and as past president.  She is a former Board member of Southern California Leadership Network (SCLN); a former member California Utilities Diversity Council; and a former advisory board member of Southern California Edison and UCLA Medical Center.

Alissa Finerman is an Executive Coach, Gallup Certified Strengths® Coach, facilitator, VC/Angel Investor and author of the book, "Living in Your Top 1%."​ She works with teams, executives, managers, entrepreneurs and VC firms to help them develop leaders. Alissa holds an MBA from the Wharton School and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley. She received her coach training from New York University, Results Coaching and Gallup Strengths Coaching Program.

Alissa's business background includes ten years in finance at Credit Suisse, a top-tier global investment bank; IPC, a former Goldman Sachs portfolio company serving the financial industry; Guggenheim Capital, a boutique investment management firm and five years in commercial real estate.

Alissa was an All-American tennis player at the University of California, Berkeley and competed on the Women's Professional Tennis Tour (ranked #202 in Doubles). She has been ranked No. 1 in the USTA National Women's Doubles in various age groups.
